It can be more effective and productive to fix the source of the problem, or the external factors related to the press, billet, container, die stack etc., and their thermal management. Join us for an in-depth presentation of how such factors play a crucial role in the die management process.

Presenters are Paul Robbins and Ken Chien of Castool Tooling Systems

 

Paul received  his postgraduate degree from the Schulich School of Business .  He's worked in the light metal extrusion industry for more than 25 years & holds more than 20 international patents.  As GM of Castool Tooling Systems, Paul has played an important role in some of the most influential development work in our industry. Castool Tooling Systems hosts complete tooling systems for extruding light metal.  Paul is well-known for the articles that he has authored, & for the many technical papers he has presented. The most well-known phrase he is known for is “Temperature, Temperature, Temperature” from his article published in 1997 in Light Metal Age  "Superextruders."

 

Ken Chien is Product Director in Castool Tooling Systems.  Prior to joining Castool, Ken has spent 8 years doing research at the University of Toronto.  Coming from a Material Science & Metallurgical background about steel & aluminum, Ken has been working on optimizing aluminum extrusion tooling.  Ken also has a dual role as Asia Sales Manager & been visiting customers worldwide to gain a broader & deeper understanding of products & their performance.  The unique dual role enables Ken to understand received feedback from customer directly & improve tooling.
