With the imminent requirement that all new LEED projects need to be registered under LEED v4, building product producers and industry associations are developing the EPDs that will be key to attaining material credits going forward. Yet while EPDs must be developed in accordance with ISO standard 14025, EPD results can vary significantly based on the representativeness and completeness of the primary data considered, the secondary data sets utilized, and the assumptions, allocations (e.g. for key inputs) and end-of-life treatments that have been employed.

So what does EPD data really mean? This one-hour webinar will help the attendee answer that question, by reviewing, in depth, the EPD development process based on an industry-wide EPD just completed for the Aluminum Extruders Council (AEC).

Learning Objectives:
Identify key assumptions utilized in EPD development.
Analyze the implications of assumptions and data source on EPD data validity.
Compare the impact of alternative finishes and thermal treatments on the environmental footprint of aluminum extrusion.
Assess alternative EPDs and understand the risks in doing so.

This webinar is presented by AEC and hosted by the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI).

Presenting sponsor: Sapa Extrusion North America
