Red Buttrum Retires from Custom Aluminum Products after 48 Years of Service

James “Red” Buttrum recently retired after 48 years of employment at Custom Aluminum Products in South Elgin, IL. In 1969, Red was hired from another local extruder to train employees when Custom Aluminum Products purchased their first extrusion press. At the time the company had approximately 15 employees. Once the press was fully installed, owner James Castoro hired Red full-time to work at the press in multiple positions.

Through the years as Custom Aluminum grew, Red was promoted to manage the die shop where he worked for the remainder of his employment. Custom Aluminum Products thanks Red Buttrum for his 48 years of dedication and longevity to the organization. Red will be missed by his colleagues and friends at Custom Aluminum and we hope he enjoys his retirement in Southern Illinois fishing and enjoying family.
