AEC President discusses Chinese aluminum at AAMA conference

AEC President Jeff Henderson spoke at the American Architectural Manufacturers Association's (AAMA) Summer Conference this week. The subject was the issue of Chinese aluminum and the U.S. market.

He explained that in March 2017, the U.S. International Trade Commission voted to renew anti-dumping and countervailing orders against China. Since the case began, more than 100 scope challenges have been issued. However, a watering-down of the original scope has occurred, said Henderson. Some key pending scope issues include appliance handles, 5050 alloyed extrusions, and curtain wall extrusions and units. Read more...
