Couture, in an interview, said the new press will be housed in a 75,000-square-foot expansion of its current building and is expected to represent most of the project's estimated $10.5 million cost.

"We're awaiting final bids on the building," he said. "We expect to have them in the second week of October."

The project is scheduled for completion in November 2018.

Couture said the new 7-inch, 2,000-ton aluminum extrusion press and related equipment are expected to boost the plant's output by 18 million lb-20 million lb.

"It will help fill our customers' needs," he said. "It will increase our capacity." More...
