ET ’16 Technical Program Breaks Records
September 21, 2015; Wauconda, Illinois - Registration for the aluminum extrusion industry’s most respected and anticipated event, the International Aluminum Extrusion Technology Seminar and Exposition, is now open. The Eleventh International Aluminum Extrusion Technology Seminar & Exposition – ET ’16 is scheduled for May 3-6, 2016 at the Hyatt Regency Chicago Hotel in downtown Chicago, Illinois. Program details for ET ’16 can be found at www.ET16.org.
The ET ’16 program encompasses nearly a week of education, information and networking focused solely on aluminum extrusion where professionals from all over the world can share their knowledge and connect in a spirit of cooperation to advance the industry. The program features opening and closing General Sessions and concurrent Technical Sessions over two-and-a-half days, each providing brief 30-minute presentations on the technical research papers delivered by the authors; all of the research is new or updated. ET delegates come to each ET Seminar event expecting to hear and see something new every day of the program; ET’16 will be no exception. Complete technical papers are provided in The Proceedings distributed to each delegate at the time of registration. ET’16 has an outstanding Exposition with over 100 companies exhibiting and as always, ET’16 will provide the world’s best opportunity to network with others focused on the aluminum extrusion industry.
The ET Foundation received more than 170 abstracts for technical papers from over 150 authors – a record on both counts since the event began in 1969. The ET ’16 final program is expected to include a record 140 technical seminar sessions on the latest aluminum extrusion research covering profile production, die design and technology, metallurgy, equipment, management issues, product applications, and more.
Complete abstracts for papers submitted for presentation at ET ’16 are now available to view on the ET’16 website at www.ET16.org. The Technical Sessions, the core of the ET Seminar program, are divided into six topic-specific tracks, including Billet Process and Equipment, Extrusion Equipment, Extrusion/Die Practical, Extrusion/Die Theoretical, Management Issues, and Value-Added Processes. “Contributions from the international aluminum extrusion community reflect a wide range of issues – from improved processes, new techniques, product and market developments and manufacturing research to sustainable practices, alloy research and best practices,” said ET Seminar Committee Chairman Craig Werner, General Manager / VP Extrusion Technology at Kaiser Aluminum.
