Fair Trade: 5-Year Expiry Review
Data Submission Begins for 5-Year Expiry Review of the Aluminum Extrusion Trade Orders
It is now time for the U.S. aluminum extrusion industry to submit data to the International Trade Commission (ITC) for the purpose of renewing our trade orders against Chinese aluminum extruders. It is extremely important that we have a strong data submission for this first submission in the sunset review.
In the opening submission, the domestic industry must demonstrate that it is interested in continuation of the order and that a significant proportion of the industry is willing to participate to make that happen. The greater the percentage of the market we can report, the stronger our arguments. The Aluminum Extruders Council Fair Trade Committee will be looking for submissions from all of the original petitioners, AEC member extruders, and even, non-AEC member extruders. A special message for the original petitioners: it is extremely important we get your updated data!
1/25/16 Send announcement and workbook to all U.S. aluminum extruders
As you can see in the workbook, we will initially be collecting the basic information needed to make the case to the ITC that the orders must be renewed. After that, and depending on what, if any, opposition we get from the Chinese, more data may be required. AEC will alert extruders to that as it develops.
First we will have a kickoff call/webinar on 2/5 to cover any questions you may have. We plan to record this webinar, so if you can’t make it, you can view it at your convenience. Even still, there may be very specific questions you may have that are better asked and answered privately. So, our key contact at Wiley Rein for this project, Robert DeFrancesco and Paul Zucker, will be available. Of course, you may call me as well, but remember that AEC staff cannot be a data collector nor should we be your source to answer questions pertaining to your data submission.
