Every year there are thousands of people killed and injured because of failures to perform LO/TO or performing it improperly, the Aluminum Extrusion industry is no exception. Anyone who works on or around machinery MUST be trained annually on the requirements of LO/TO and anyone who removes guards or places any part of their body in the “danger zone” must know and understand how to control the hazardous energy which they are exposed to, in order to do their job safely. In this session, we are going to teach the basics of Lock-Out/Tag-Out for the Authorized Employee. Once completed attendees will have the basic information needed to be considered “Authorized Employees” according to OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147.

(This is general LO/TO authorized employee training. Before your employees perform LO/TO in your facility they should receive additional facility-specific training regarding your specific program and machine specific LO/TO procedures.)
