Best Paper Awards Presented at ET ’16

May 16, 2016; Wauconda, Illinois -- The authors of the best papers of the 124 technical papers presented at the Eleventh International Aluminum Extrusion Technology Seminar and Exposition—ET ’16 ( were presented with awards during the General Session on Wednesday, May 4 in Chicago, Illinois, USA. Only one paper in each track was awarded the distinction of Best of Track paper, and one paper was awarded the singular distinction of Best Paper of ET ’16. There were six tracks in all, covering the following topics: Billet Process and Equipment; Extrusion /Die Practical; Extrusion/Die Theoretical; Extrusion Equipment; Management Issues; and Value-Added Processes. The award-winning papers were selected by members of the ET Seminar Committee comprised of a team of experts within the aluminum extrusion industry.

The Best Paper of ET ’16 was awarded to Nick Parson of Rio Tinto Aluminium, Jonquière, Québec, Canada; Jean-François Béland of National Research Council, Saguenay, Québec, Canada; and Jerome Fourmann of Rio Tinto Aluminium, Cleveland, Ohio, USA for their paper, Extrusions for Automotive Crash Applications.
